Review: Dermalogica Oil Free Matte SPF 30

Mr Neo Luxe Reviews Dermalogica Oil Free Matte SPF 30 Sunscreen Moisturizer

The height of summer is upon on us and if you have oily skin like I do, chances are by early afternoon your skin is looking like an oil slick. While a number of factors such as oil, heat and air-conditional all promote shiny skin, I’ve found a moisturiser which will keep skin hydrated throughout the day and keep looking matte and free from shine the entire working day. This moisturiser by Dermalogica is one of my absolute favourites and its perfect for spring and summer or whenever you’re travelling to a warm (and sticky) climate.

Name: Dermalogica Oil Free Matte SPF 30

What it does: This lightweight broad spectrum sunscreen/moisturiser has been created to regulate oil production and soothe inflamed skin. It’s formulated with oil absorbers which maintain an all-day-matte complexion without a powdery of cakey residue.

Results: I have to admit this product is pretty close to perfect. It has a nice dense formulation which applies to skin super light and doesn’t have that shiny sunscreen look. It spreads on the skin easily and is quickly absorbed. It can use be used as your daily moisturiser or in conjunction with your moisturiser – I use this product on its own.

Oil Free Matte SPF 30 features UV Smart Booster Technology which is a complex of anti-oxidant vitamins including C and E preventing from free radical damage. It also features a safflower derived extract which provides enhanced moisture while boosting SPF. A blend of additional extracts such as yeast extract, Green Tea and Horse Chesnut regulate oil production, soothe inflammation and protect your skin.

This product is part of Dermalogica’s mediBac Clearing range designed for acne prone and oily skin. I first experienced this range about 10 years ago when I suffered regular breakouts. What I enjoyed most about this mediBac range (this product is not exception) is how effective the products are and how gentle they are on the skin. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who suffers with break outs and oily skin who enjoys a matte complexion. Dermalogica’s Oil Free Matte SPF 30 keeps my skin well-hydrated throughout the day and keeps my shine in check.

How to use: Apply to cleansed skin evenly and liberally. This product should be applied at least 30 minute prior to sun exposure. For continuous protection apply regularly. Reapplying is recommended after swimming or exercise.

Price: Dermalogica Oil Free Matte SPF 30 50ml $70.

Where to buy: Available online from the Dermalogica website along with selected stockists in Australia. Locate your nearest stockist.
