Review: Zecca Clean

Zecca Clean

Your skin naturally sheds millions of skin cells daily, but as we get older, this natural occurring processes begins to slow down. It’s not just ageing that slows the shedding process, other factors such as sun damage and various skin disorders also play their part. Skin begins to appear dull; pores become enlarged and clogged, you may also notice white bumps, wrinkles and loss of firmness.

While traditional scrubs assist in removing dead skin cells from the top layer, AHA’s and BHA’s penetrate pores and follicles removing dead skin cells allowing for regrowth of new skin. I recently trialled Zecca Clean, which combines both AHA’s and BHA’s to cleanse and gently exfoliate the skin.

Product Name: Zecca Clean

What it does: This exfoliating cleanser uses both AHA’s and BHA’s to remove dead skin cells and decongest pores to reveal fresher, smoother and brighter skin. Formulated with 6% lactic acid, 3% glycolic acid and 2% salicylic acid, the AHA’s work to slough off dead skin cells, while BHA’s penetrate the pores removing sebum and dead skin build up from the inside.

Results: Although this cleanser may sound stripping, it’s very gentle on the skin. It works up a nice lather and is scented with grapefruit and orange oils which instantly refresh the skin. I noticed a visible difference in my skin after using this product twice a day for three days. My complexion appeared smoother, pores more refined and an overall improvement in my skin tone. I would recommend this product to anyone who is concerned with the signs of ageing or skin texture.

How to use: Emulsify the cleanser with warm water to create a foamy lather and gently massage into the skin. Rinse well and pat dry.

Skin types: Zecca Clean is PH balanced and suitable for most skin types.
