Review: Balenciaga – B Balenciaga

B Balenciage review mr neo luxe

While many fragrance houses are choosing the floral route for spring and summer, Balenciaga decided to stand out from the crowd with its use of refreshing green notes to create a sophisticated scent that is feminine and sensual.

Name: Balenciaga – B Balenciaga

Fragrance Notes: Lily of the valley, violet leaf, edamame bean, Iris, cedarwood, ambrette seed and cashmere wood.

Described as: A green woody fragrance. The fragrance opens with fresh notes and then changes to a powdery fragrance before settling with dark woody notes. The concept behind the scent is to capture the woman, the essence and the personality – the more she reveals, the more intriguing she becomes. The bottle also has an interesting story with the cracked glass texture representing the marbled floor of the original Balenciaga store on 10 Avenue George V Paris salon, while the arched cap pays homage to the arches found in Balenciaga fashion and accessories.

Season: A great fragrance for spring and summer. It’s light and floral while the heart and base notes provide longevity.

Wear it: A great fragrance for everyday wear. It could quite easily become your next signature scent.

Price: 75ml EDP, $180. B Balenciaga is available from selected Myer and David Jones department stores.

The Verdict: This fragrance is a trendsetter. While the flavour of the season seems to be florals, Balenciaga has chosen to capture the hearts of women with refreshing green notes. What I love about this fragrance is that it continues to evolve and almost takes you on a journey as you discover green, floral and woody accords. This scent is made for the bold woman who isn’t afraid to break the mold.
